With some simple and easy to follow steps and instructions you can get the best grilled ribs that you and your guests can enjoy thoroughly. Now, you can cook it on gas grill as well as on charcoal grill.

For cooking this you will need:

  • A rack of ribs
  • A meat thermometer
  • Aluminium foil (to wrap)
  • BBQ sauce
  • Seasoning ingredients (mentioned below)

Cooking On Charcoal Grill

To get an authentic barbecue flavour in your grilled ribs, using charcoal grill is the best option. It provides that smoky flavour to the rib which is perfect for authentic taste. But cooking here on charcoal grill can be a slight difficult. You have to learn how to keep it low so that the meat gets tender and perfect. Start with cleaning the charcoal grill properly. You will need the temperature of 120 degree Celsius or 250 degree Fahrenheit when it comes to charcoal grilling.

First, start with seasoning the ribs. Always remember that seasoning should be done at least 40 minutes before you start grilling. For seasoning, you can use salt, pepper, paprika, chilli powder and garlic powder (whatever you want). Along with that use BBQ sauce for extra flavour.

Now, one thing that you have to do is to remove the membrane which is the thin skin on the side of the bone. This can prove to be a tough barrier when it comes to grilling.

Remove the grate where you cook and fill the coal grate with charcoal. And then lit it up. Once the coal is lit up, you need to add woods to create the smoke for the smoky flavor.

Place the cooking grate now to barbecue ribs at a low temperature of 250 degree Fahrenheit. You can add some water to a disposable aluminium pan to keep the moisture and smoke intact in the meat.

Flip it on both the side till it is done. To know whether or not it is properly cooked, insert a meat thermometer into the middle of the meat. It must read 180 to 190 degree Fahrenheit.

Cooking On Gas Grill

Now the seasoning part and removing part will be same for the gas grill. But the process will be a bit different. Getting that smoky authentic flavour via gas grill is a bit tough but still it tastes amazing. No doubt, that it helps to cook faster than that of the gas grill.

First heat the grill up to 290 degrees Celsius (375 degree Fahrenheit). And then start grilling.

Now start cooking the meat. Flip from one side to another in every one or two minutes.

It will take around 20 minutes in total to get fully cooked. While cooking the temperature of the grill should be around 250 degree Fahrenheit (not more than 265 degree F).

Once this is done you are ready to enjoy the BBQ ribs with your friends and family and be safe in the knowledge that you now know how to bbq ribs.
